Odette
Odette is a French diminutive of the names Oda or Odile/Odilia. Both names are feminine forms of Otto, which possibly is from a Germanic element odal meaning "fatherland" or od, meaning "wealth; riches." In Tchaikovsky's 1876 ballet Swan Lake, Odette was the name of the princess who was cursed by an evil wizard and turned into a swan.
