Nerium oleander is a flowering plant native to sub-tropical areas. It's lovely flowers and ability to grow in dry areas with poor soil make it popular in other areas as an ornamental shrub. It is highly toxic. The name "oleander" comes from its passing resemblance to the olive tree olea.
