Perdita

Shakespeare coined this name for his play The Winter's Tale. He based it on the Latin word for "lost." It was also the name of the mom dog in 101 Dalmatians, but I like the Shakesperean reference better. I think it's beautiful, and the meaning is appealingly dramatic. Dita could be a short form.

Shakespeare coined this name, probably based on the Latin perditus meaning "lost."
