• a wonderful classic name meaning "bright" or "radiant". My great great grandmother was named Phoebe Sophia. She was a midwife in New Brunswick, Canada.
• If you say it enough it starts to catch on. I think it has a sophisticated, yet girlish sound to it.

• Phoebe Elisabeth: I have always wanted to have a daughter named Phoebe. I like really old names that aren't used very much but don't like the stale "Kaylee", "Haylee", "MacKenzie", "Michaela", and "Tyler" names that everyone uses to be different. Phoebe is beautiful, it's unusual, and it's a bird name. Plus I have to confess I really love the character of Phoebe on Friends even though she's a bit of a kook!
