Rayna
-
can also be spelled Raina. I like it because it makes me think of a girl dancing in the rain singing. Happy, yet also shadowy and secretive.
- I adore this name.It is very uncommon and I hope it stays that way because I want this name for my 2nd daughter.
- I like and it can be shortened to Rayn as a nick name
- Rayna Danielle is my daughter's name. I think it is a strong, mysterious, and feminine name. I named her Rayna for two reasons. When I was 7 months pregnant with her, my grandfather Ray passed away from cancer so I wanted to honor him by spelling it with a "y" instead of Raina. Also Rayna means the same as Trina (my name) just in a different language, which is "pure". Danielle is from Daniel which is my husband's middle name.
- Rayna Jade: I love Rayna because it's different and sharp. I would call her Ray for short, and I think Jade suits the middle name.
Rayna can either be an alternate form of Reina, Spanish for "queen," or else a take on the name Rain. It also can be a Yiddish name, a variation of Raina, which means "pure; clean." In Bulgarian, Rayna is a diminutive form of Regina or else a feminine form of Rayno. Rayno is a diminutive of masculine names beginning with Rad- such as Radomir and Radoslav. in this case, the element rad means "care."
