Reuben

In the Bible, Reuben, the son of Jacob and Leah, is a founder of one of the 12 Tribes of Israel. It is the English form of the Hebrew name Reuven. Scholars disagree what this names means, with the usual meaning being "behold, a son." Others have put forth that it may come from raa beonyi meaning "he has seen my misery,"(referring to Leah's status as one of Jacob's less important wives) or from yeehabani meaning "he will love me," (referring to the fact that Leah thinks that Jacob will love her if she bears him a son). It has also been put forth that it is related to an Arabic word meaning "wolves."
