Sabrina

Sabrina is a Latinization of the Welsh name for the river Severn (Hafren). In British mythology, it is said that a princess named Sabrina gave her name to the river when she drowned in the river. It is more likely that the river name came first, and the story came later, however. The name became popular after Samuel A. Taylor's play 'Sabrina Fair' (1953) and the movie adaptation which starred Audrey Hepburn and Humphrey Bogart.
