Scout Alexander: I really love the name Scout. It's one of those cute nick names a father calls his son. Scout sounds like a boy who can stick up for himself and is one of the lad's but is also a real momma's boy! The middle name of Alexander is chosen to "honour" my sister who's name is Alexandra. I also happen to just adore the name.
Scout's popularity as a first name (at least int he USA) can probably be traced to Harper Lee's novel To Kill a Mockingbird, in which the narrator, named Jean Louise Finch is called Scout. In 1991, Actors Bruce Willis and Demi Moore named a daughter Scout, and a nation that already was in a trend of using masculine names on girls caught onto this name. It has slowly been rising in popularity since then.
