Even though I'm not a fan of her music, I think it's really pretty and feminine sounding - perfect for my little girl and will still be pretty when she grows up. My son shortened it to 'Nia due to the fact that he couldn't say Shania when she was born. Although, I AM getting sick of people saying "oh, after the singer - you're a big fan then are you ?" whenever they meet her - so I've started introducing her to strangers as Nia. "On my way" as a meaning bodes well for her future also.
