Simon
- I just like this name...no real significance or anything
- Simon is my dad's middle name. plus he was a chipmunk...my favorite one and i love the name a ton.
- pleasantly old-fashioned and a good biblical name.
- Simon Ambrose - Simon is another name that "travels well". It's classy, very British in feeling and rather rakish. It's uncommon, yet not unheard of and it's easily spelt. I adore Ambrose's meaning as well as the literary connection (Stephen Ambrose and Ambrose Bierce!). I think it sounds quite classy yet it's unusual enough that it will never be (even when used as a first name) one of 3 or 4 in a classroom. Distinctive yet grounded.
- Simon Oliver: the quintessential British name it seems, but Simon I've always liked for the crisp, clean sound of it.
This is the English form of the Greek form of the Hebrew name Shimon, which means 'he has heard.' Simeon is another form in which this name is found.
