Sydney
- This name seems so feminine to me, even though it's unisex. It has a very feminine, pretty sound, and I picture a very pretty, feminine little girl when I hear it. I think this name is under-used.
- Sydney Anastasia: (this is what I'll name my daughter)-- Sydney because I've always had this slight obsession with Austalia.... and Anastasia because...hmmm...I don't know. It looks and sounds so beautiful!
- Sydney Bliss: I dont know what it is I just love the name Sydney. I like the nicknames Sy-Sy or Siddy. It is very feminine and when i have a daughter one day i hope to name her Sydney. Bliss is so unique and pretty. I think the two names are beautiful together
- Sydney Dayle Nickname: Sydi, Pronounced Siddy, That's my sister's name, and you barely ever hear the name Sydney- You never hear Dayle ever either, especially on girls.
- Sydney Kate - I think both names are adorable and flow well together. Kate is kind of honoring my cousin, Katie.
- Sydney Elizabeth: Sydney, Australia is where my husband served his mission for his church. Elizabeth is family name that has been with the Ryan's for generations
Sydney is a form of Sidney, an English surname that either comes from Norman French St. Denis, or from an Old English place name meaning "water meadow" or "wide island." It was used for boys until the 20th century when it started becoming popular for girls as well. As of 2010 it is pretty much exclusively a girls' name, at least in the USA.
