Timothy
- From reading the list of names people dislike, it seems a lot of people consider this name to be too wimpy. I disagree, and feel it is quite masculine and strong in a low-key way. A Timothy/Tim strikes me as the type of guy who won't walk around grunting and scratching himself where it itches, but will happily stand up for the underdog who's being picked on or stick to his guns when he's challenged. The kind of guy who's tough without being a troublemaker.
- classical and soft sounding. Timmy and Tim grow well with the child.
- of Greek origin, means: One who honors and fears God. Timothy's ethnic backgrounds include Irish/English/Welsh. I like this name because it is religious without being bordering obnoxious like some names I.E. Trinity, Jesus.
- there are not many boy names with nicknames I like, but I like both Timmy and Tim. So the child could grow out of Timmy and stick with Tim or Timothy. This will be the name of my first born son.
- A former pastor at my church who had a profound impact on our church as well as my life.
- Timothy Elijah: i love biblical names!!
The English form of Timotheos, a Greek name used in the New Testament. This name is made up of elements meaning "God" and "honor."
