Tyro

There was a young Roman soldier named Tyro who was a christian martyr. He was told by his superiors that he had to renounce his faith or be killed. He requested some time to think over his decision, which he was granted. He then used this time to burn down as many temples of the Roman gods as he could before he was caught and killed.Whether right or wrong he bravely stood up for what he believed in. When I think of the name Tyro I picture someone courageous.

St Theodore Tyro was a 4th century Roman martyr. He is also known as Theodore of Amasea and is often confused with St. Theodore Stratelates, who may or may not be a separate person. He is considered to be a warrior saint and thus was adopted as the patron of the Crusades.
