Unity
- Enjoyed a brief period of popularity with the Puritans and that was it. A shame, given the clear and beautiful meaning. I also gravitate towards names starting with vowels.
- There aren't enough 'u' names, and this one is too pretty to leave behind. I love it for it's sublime message and off-beat style.
- Unity Lyric: I don't really know why I like this combo but I do! I don't think you'd get many Unity's in Scotland, maybe that's why I like it!
The Puritans used Unity as a name in the 17th century. It comes from the Latin unitas coming from the word for "one." It was also used as a name in Ireland to anglicize the Irish name Una.
