So, I pick up Rolling Stone magazine today, and who’s in it? First of all, the Dresden Dolls. That’s to be expected, I mean, sooner or later they’re going to be internaitonally famous, if they aren’t already. They’ve come a long way from the days when Amanda drop-kicked a barrel cactus in the Rugg Road parking lot, and Brian worked at S&S and brought us leftover muffins.
Banks Violette is also mentioned in RS– can you believe it? The very scrawny druggie skate punk I went to high school with is having his own art show at the Whitney. I remember he asked me once which hand he should masturbate with that night, and I was pretty much stumped for an answer. He also asked me what my favorite position was, and when stumpedor ma for an answer, he said his was the one that involved 3 10-year old girls, a French poodle, and a kiddie pool filled with lime jello. Mind you, at ACS, I sat in the corner of the hall with my hair hanging in my face (under a hat of course, for maximum concealment) and didn’t talk to anyone. The fact that Banks actually even talked to me was miraculous in my eyes.
Anyway, it’s good to see that people I know are going on to do great things– maybe Gen X isn’t as cursed as I think. Actually, I’m not sure the Dresden Dolls even qualify as Gen-x, with an average age of 26. Anyway, it’s cool that people I know are going places. There is hope in the world that “normal” people can do great things. Or at least be recognized for achievements. Not that being in Rolling Stone is the pinnacle of success, but you know what I mean!

What’s with the lime jello? Adrian was obsessed with it too.

Dunno. Maybe it’s an ACS thing. Personally, I don’t like my poodles green and sticky, but that’s just me.
