Back to Boston
I’m back from the Hippie Hicklands! It was actually pretty fun out there– I got to hang with Pad & Uzi, goof off with Squidney, play Scrabble and Boggle with Moth and Slug, saw some movies, fixed Allie’s 2 computers and got an awesome massage… It was actually all pretty restful. Restful was what I was aiming for–my brain was seriously fried after working like crazy on the weeks leading up to X-mas + trying to make/buy presents for everybody and all that shizzle. My brain was so fried I forgot Squidney’s present, I thought that, for some reason, it only takes 4 hours to get to Pad’s house from Boston (it takes 6 hours; I got there so late I missed Christmas and everyone else had gone home), grabbed a bottle of ibuprofin instead of my drugs (luckily there’s a CVS in Ithaca and I was able to transfer the prescription).
However, a few games of Boggle and some eggnog later I was back to relaxed.
…well, until Squidney played me some Scandinavian pop music, that is. All I know is that I need to use the word “Rockalypse” and discuss the “Day of Rockening” more often.
Everyone seemed to pretty much like the presents I made/bought them. Uncle Justin was happy and surprised with the Gil Scott Heron CD– see? I remember stuff about people! I remember he had that record and I used to listen to it at his house a lot. Squidney liked her mutant composite stuffed animal I made (and is looking forward to the one I forgot to bring her in the mail).
I am sleepy. I’ll fill in the scintillating details of my Week in The Middle of Nowhere some other day.
