Let’s make dessert with milk!

Posted by scooter in duh! at 12:18 am

I bought this stuff at a Japanese grocery store because the only English on it says “Let’s make dessert with milk.” It sounded so inviting and homey, like “OK, mr. box of stuff! Let’s make dessert with milk, shall we?”

So I made dessert with milk. It was… odd. The box contained a foil package which I dumped into a bowl, per the illustration on the back. I was expecting some form of powder; pudding things always start out as powder, right? wrong! This stuff was pure liquid. It was a clear blue-ish liquid with some odd lumps in it. I added milk, whisked it, and lo and behold, it became this slightly bouncy, quivering blueberry mass! It had the texture of yogurt–the cheap kind you buy 8 for $1 at the grocery store that comes already mixed with fruit and stuff. It’s not bad– it tastes pretty much like that blueberry yogurt as well.

So there you have it. We made dessert with milk.

For my next adventure in eating, I will test this syringe snack:

It’s 4 styrofoamy-looking wafer things and a syringe of creepy blue liquid. I am all for things that encourage children to become IV drug users! After all, this blue pancake thing is a gateway drug. Today it’s Japanese snacks, tomorrow it’s shooting smack in an alleyway with a toothless guy known only as “Mack.”

Before the inevitable descent into drug abuse, though, you can try these artistic suggestions:

I am fond of the cartoon rabbits on the package, though. I thought of a million different dialogues that these bunnies could be having.
