Popularity Lists
Sorry, folks-- the Social Security Administration won't send me the raw data for the names for any given year anymore. I've had to extrapolate based on what they post online. This isn't very good data, though, because they only post occurrences of names up to 230 for girls, 157 for boys. That means that there could be 25 different spellings of...say..."Emily" (which is not hard to imagine), each with 249 occurrences, making it way more popular, and we'd never know. However, this seems to be fairly accurate in terms of overall trends. Just don't quote me on exact numbers!
