Aislinn

• Pronounced Ash-lynn. It doesn't sound too Irish, but it sounds pretty, maybe because it is bit American sounding.

  I think I got this name from hearing a similar boys name... Ainslee. And so I mixed it up and got Aislinn and I liked it. Aislinn sounds very chic and fashionable.

  Loved the name since I saw it in a Baby Names book one day, it means dream which I think is really cool

Aislinn is pronounced /ASH leen[g]/ in the original Irish Gaelic. It is a form of the original Irish Aisling (also used as a name in Ireland), meaning "dream; vision." It is also a type of poem in which Ireland is portrayed as a beautiful woman in distress (see the songs Róisín Dubh and Eileen Mac Mahon).
