Cassia
- this is Greek for cinnamon and I think its a prettier alternative to Cassie or Cassandra.
- This is the name of a character in two books I've read, The Serpents Children and Mountain Light. The character is a strong, intelligent girl, but a little headstrong. She's one of my favorite book characters, and my favorite in the books. The name is exotic and beautiful.
- A beautiful name, graceful and feminine. Not only the name of a tree in the laurel family, but it's in the Bible, as the name of a spice used in offerings to the Lord and the name of one of Job's daughters.
Cassia is also the scientific name for cinnamon. It is found in the bible as the name Keziah, the Hebrew form. On the sci-fi/fantasy, theme, it was used for not one, but two characters in the tv show Dr. Who.
