Delilah
- From the book 'What's New Pussycat' by Alexandra Potter, and, of course, the song Delilah by Tom Jones. It sounds kind of floral to me (even though it isn't), and modern.
- I love this name, its so sexy and feminine, plus its unusual. I love Lilah for short too.
- Even though this name has a sort of negative connotation because of the biblical reference to Samson and Delilah, I still love it! It sounds so melodic and has a kind of funky and off-beat quality that really appeals to me. Not to mention a little Southern charm thrown in. Perfect for the fearless baby-namer.
- Biblical, but sounds very free and happy (actually, wasn't the one in the bible a temptress?). Would probably give this to a pet--esp. a frog or a cat--rather than a kid.
- Delilah Elaine is also a beautiful name still underused but still really common. i always named my baby dolls Delilah
