Jaime
- because it is short and to the point, while also sounding soft and feminine. It sounds a bit exotic, and is less usual for girls (at least it is here in NZ where I live)
- This name is semi-common, many others may spell it differently but, I find that this spelling which is french is very rarely used.
In French, J'aime means "I like" or "I love." It is not used as a name there, it is just a sentence fragment. It is pronounced "ZHEM." (the "zh" being like the "su" in "pleasure" and "treasure."). Pronounced /KHY may/, Jaime is a Spanish man's name; a form of James.
