Kennedy

Kennedy comes from an Irish surname Cinnéidigh, which comes from a personal name meaning "armored head." This was also a nickname for someone with an ugly or deformed head. It started being popular in the US in the early 90s with the rise of surnames as first names. It was brought to the public eye as a first name for most with the MTV personality Kennedy (real name: Lisa Kennedy Montgomery). It remains popular because of John F. Kennedy, a U.S. president who is beloved by many.
