Kiernan
- The name I am submitting is my son's. His name is Kiernan (Kier rhymes with Pier as in take a long walk off a short...). I found this name at the mall during Christmas at a name booth and wrote it down because it spoke to me. I wrote it down on an envelope and stuffed it away like I do most things. A few months before I found out I was pregnant (years after I had originally written it down) I ran across the envelope so it was fresh in my mind when I got the ol two lines on the pregnancy test. I like it because it's masculine and Celtic. So far just about everyone who meets him slaughters his name (we've heard Kevin and Karen) but almost everyone says, "How unique! Is it Irish/Celtic?). He's just now starting to call himself Kiernan but usually reserves it for girls he's flirting with (he's three) otherwise you'll probably get "Kino" from him.
- an Irish surname and a variation of "Ciaran", which is unfortunately becoming more popular. I like Kier for a nickname.
