Lily
- Very sweet and feminine for a baby girl, but doesn't sound too childish for an older person. A good way to honor someone named susan (like my mother) because Susan means Lily.
- because it's beautiful and fun.
- A simple, feminine, pretty name. Somehow, for me, it makes me think of a girl with a very sweet personality. Perhaps because I knew a girl with that name who was like that; very sweet.
- Simple, feminine and pretty without being cutesy. The right level of unusualness - ie. fairly unusual without being a 'novelty' name.
- this name is very feminine and not often heard among people
- A shorter version of Cecily it is very cute, short, and sweet. But only keep 1 L or I think it isn't as pretty.
- Very sweet. Easy to spell and say. Also very classic.
- Lily Ella: I LOVE this name, it's cute, sweet and pretty. Lily use to remind me of a grandmother but now it's a very pretty and becoming popular name. I like the name Ella because it's classic and sweet meaning Beauty. I really think these names complement each other. I also really love Lily-Rose and Lily-Rose Melody.
- Lily Margaret: fresh and unique
- Lily Jayne: Lily is simple & sweet and I dont hear the name Jane as much and it sounds good together.
Lily is the name of a flower. The flower gets its name from the Latin lilium, which has origins in Greek. As a name, Lily was also used as a rare pet form of Elizabeth. It probalby owes a lot of its popularity to the fact that the lily flower is a Christian symbol, echoing Christ's words "consider the lilies of the field..." However, the use of the flower is not just limited to Christian practice, as the Hebrew name Shoshana also means "lily."
