Madison

Madison comes from an English surname, meaning "son of Maud." It was first widely used in the USA in the 80's, following the movie Splash, in which the main character, a mermaid, calls herself Madison after the street sign of Madison Avenue in NYC. Currently, it is in the top 5 most popular names for girls.
