In recent years, surnames have become popular to use as first names. Classrooms are full of little Taylors, Tylers, and Madisons. Relative newcomers like Carter, Kennedy, Reagan, Grant and Harrison are zooming up the charts. What do these names have in common? They are all the names of former U.S. Presidents. Why these names? Perhaps parents feel they are distinguished and have more prestige than your average Smith and Jones. Perhaps it's a nod to our nation's history.
