Hallie
- because of where we got it. We got it from the word Hallelujah (Hubby just prefered the -ie spelling) and in that context it means "Praise the Lord." It's heard of, but uncommon, at least right now. It's cute and spunky!
- soft and sweet, reminds me of the sea
- Its a pretty but not soppy name it means thinking of the sea..aaah.. its nice for kids or adults
- I've seen Hallie Kate Eisenburg in movies and I think she is so cute and so I think the name is cute, too.
Hallie is an American short form of the name Harriet. Harriet is a feminization of the name Harry, which was originally a pet form of Henry, but it now used on its own. All of these names ultimately derive from the germanic name Heimerich (modern German, Heinrich) which is made up of elements meaning "home" and "ruler."
