Julia
- to call her Jews for short. Tall, strong woman, classic.
- because it sounds very eligant yet adventurous
- soft and feminine.
- This name is sooooo beautiful! And it belongs to very strong people with humungus hearts. (My Mom, Julia Roberts)
- I know...common city. But it's so lyrical and feminine, and I like the nickname Jules.
- Julia Alice: This name means a lot to me because it combines two things I really like. I LOVE the song "Julia" by the Beatles, and it would be really neat to have a song with your name in it. Alice is from two of my favourite books which are "Through the looking glass and what Alice found there" and "Alice's adventures in Wonderland" by Lewis Carroll. The only problem is that Julia is an extremely popular name but I'm hoping it's not by the time I have kids!
Julia is a feminine form of Julius, which is possibly derived from the Greek iulios meaning "downy-bearded." Julia was very popular in the USA in the late 1800s as well as in the late 1990s-2000s. It became popular again after Julie fell out of favor in the and 1980s & 1990s. The rise to fame of American actress Julia Roberts (born 1967) may have helped boost the name's popularity.
