Leanne, Leanna |
|||||
FOR REAL: Liana started out as an Italian short form of Giuliana, Liliana etc. Liane/Lianne was used in English in the early-mid 20th century as a short form of Julianne. Leanne, however, is most likely a modern creation, based on the names Lee and Ann, influenced by names such as Deanne and Luann. Leanna may be an elaboration of Leanne, or else a re-spelling of Liana. | |||||
